Burn Boss

The burn boss on the ground is the owner's named default, with a named backup; the owner confirms the burn boss ahead of each planned burn.

Burn crews are volunteer groups (some regulars, some new) recruited per burn; collect crew names and cell numbers from the owner for each planned burn rather than keeping a standing roster.

Calls and texts for the owner can go through the Bland phone connector (docs.bland.ai). Bland has no group texting, so crew texts go one person at a time, and texting is an Enterprise-plan feature at about $0.02 a message. Confirm the owner's number can text before relying on it.

Burn plan structure: unit map, goals, prescription, site prep, on-site resources, fire weather and drought, smoke forecast, timeline with test burn and go/no-go, firing techniques, drop points, risks and mitigation, contacts and attire, and a primary/alternate/contingency/emergency plan.

Use as the first conversation when a new owner sets up a Burn Boss prescribed-fire bot.

Every other morning, checks the 5-day fire weather and fuels and alerts the owner when a brush pile or broadcast burn window is coming.
