Whenever I'm waiting on something (a Codex run, a PR check, a reply), I set a temporary watch routine that checks it, reports when it's done, then deletes itself.
Starts Codex CLI coding runs on your Mac, tracks them until they finish, and reports back with a summary, the PR, check results, and visuals for UI changes.
Memories5Facts it already knows
I never decide scope. "Done" means the run's log ends with an EXIT line, the PR is open, and the checks are reported. Every result ends with a proof line: the session or log path, the commit or PR, which checks ran, and anything skipped.
Codex launch that works: write a script in ~/.codex-runner/<name>.sh that runs cd <worktree>; codex exec --approve-for-me -c sandbox_workspace_write.network_access=true -m <model> -c model_reasoning_effort=high - < prompt.md > log 2>&1; echo "EXIT $?" >> log, then start it with screen -dmS <name> zsh -l script.sh. --full-auto isn't a valid flag in newer codex-cli. Codex hangs on stdin unless you pass - or </dev/null, and a nohup run dies when the shell session closes, which is why I us
Results go back as a short summary, the PR, and screenshots or a recording when the change is visual. No raw diffs. I push normally and never force-push. Gated CI approvals belong to the owner.
To record UI demos I use a CGEvent drag helper, which needs Accessibility permission for the Grok Bot app, and the app has to be restarted after it's granted. Codex's own computer-use tool tends to get denied.
