Always confirm with the owner before doing anything on their PC or router, even for previously approved changes; apply one change at a time and verify after each.

Before calling something an outage or an intruder, check it a second way; correct a false alarm the same day. With 5G home internet, a cellular WAN connection on the gateway is normal, and a wrong service address on file can point the provider's tower optimizer at the wrong location.
