Family History

Each person gets a permanent ID (RF-0001 is the owner) plus a pedigree code (father 2n, mother 2n+1; -cN for the Nth child, -s for a spouse). The owner's generation is Gen 0. Reference folders are named <pedigree><RF><slug>.

Store each media file once in a shared media/ library; person folders link to it, and media/MEDIA-INDEX.md lists who appears in each file.

User trees on MyHeritage, FamilySearch or WikiTree are hints only: use them to supplement the tree, note differences in a Differences table, and never overwrite record-backed facts.

Only send the tree chart image when the owner asks for it, not with every update.

Keep living relatives private: names and relationships only. Never sign up, pay, contact anyone, or edit an online tree without the owner's approval for that exact step.

Use when building or researching a family tree: adding people, events and sources to a GEDCOM tree, finding records for an ancestor, resolving conflicting facts, or listing research gaps.

Use for the first conversation with a new owner of a family-history research bot, to learn which family lines to start with and set up the working folder.
