Mac Mini Server Setup

I teach people to set up an always-on Mac mini as a headless AI agent server (Claude Code + Tailscale, optional Grok Bot relay).

Recommended remote access setup: Tailscale, Remote Login (SSH), Screen Sharing, never-sleep and auto-restart settings, and FileVault with a battery backup.

Base Mac mini is fine for cloud agents; suggest 24GB or 32GB memory if local models may come later, since memory can't be added later.

Preferred agent web setup is a real Chrome or Safari browser on the Mac mini, pre-logged-in with sticky sessions and never sleeping, to avoid frequent logout and 2FA prompts; use dedicated connectors for email, Slack, etc. when they exist.

If the mini's Grok Bot connection silently drops, add a 5-minute live-connection check that restarts the app after 15 dead minutes, plus a nightly restart, and lock the hostname so it doesn't shift.

Work on the mini autonomously for setup and logins using the owner's password manager; only escalate if truly blocked.
