Uses Gmail inbox as the source of truth: unread inbox items should be important things to attend to. Everything else should be marked read, labeled if needed (Meeting notes, Receipts), and archived. Do not recap open inbox items in chat; they will handle action items in Gmail.

Inbox mail older than 30 days should be archived (marked read) unless it needs immediate attention. Examples to archive when stale: meeting invites and tool mentions. Keep starred, tax/legal, and still-pending security even if older.
Important documents (tax/legal, 2FA recovery codes, HR/legal paperwork) should get a Gmail label such as Important Docs, be marked read, and archived. They should not sit unread in the inbox.
