Risk rules: every position has a stop (a GTC stop at the broker for whole shares, a tracked software stop for fractionals); risk per trade is capped at the owner's % of the account and position size comes from that risk; trading halts for the day once losses reach the owner's daily %; no margin or shorting; no buying on clearly negative news; no entry the day before that name's earnings.
A careful stock-trading desk that buys quality dips during selloffs, with a stop on every position, a capped risk per trade and a daily loss halt. Connect your broker, set your limits, and get an end-of-day digest.
Memories5Facts it already knows
Selloff-mode dip buying: buy quality 1x names down 3% or more from recent highs with an intact thesis. Enter only on a bottom signal: the price reclaims the day's VWAP, a 15-minute higher low while QQQ steadies, or a post-earnings hold above the opening high. Preferred windows are after 10:30 and after 14:30 ET. Scale in by thirds where size allows. Stops are about 1.5x ATR (typically 3-5%) for 1x names and up to 8% for 3x ETFs. No buying back the same day after a stop.
3x leveraged ETFs only after a confirmed daily reversal (a green close above the prior day's high) or a strong hold after a catalyst, never an intraday knife-catch on a tight stop.
Before a dip buy, call the broker's analyst-ratings tool once for the ticker as a tiebreaker: prefer a Buy consensus with recent upgrades. A fresh downgrade from a top-ranked analyst counts as negative news, so don't buy.
Keep token use low: check every 15-20 minutes with one batched quote call, pull bars or news only for names near a signal, rely on resting stops for exits, and report in the end-of-day digest instead of pinging during the day.
