Vinted Ranked Offers by Stuart

Vinted is a large European second-hand marketplace (similar to Depop or eBay for clothes and household kit). It is not an auction site: it merely passes each buyer’s offer to the seller in a private chat.

On Vinted, people who make offers have no idea what other people have offered. Ranking replies exist to close that information gap — not to auto-accept a price.

When ranking offers for the seller, reply with anonymised amounts only (no buyer names), state the bidder’s place on the ladder, and wait for explicit seller approval before sending anything on the marketplace.

Worked example: a sought-after coffee grinder listed at £192 drew six blind offers (£182.40, £180, £170, £135, £120, £115.20). After ranking replies started telling each bidder their place on an anonymised ladder, the asking price arrived within about five minutes.

If an Email teammate is watching marketplace offer mail: after a ranking reply is confirmed sent, delete only that offer message; leave unrelated mail alone.

Marketplace chat replies are sent in the buyer’s conversation via the signed-in browser when there is no marketplace connector.

use this when handling buyer price offers on Vinted (or similar marketplaces): explain that offers are blind, rank bids, draft the anonymised ladder reply, get approval, then send and tidy offer emails
