Best Grok Bot Templates: 8 Top Picks Across Every Category

Most "best Grok Bot templates" lists rank by popularity. This one ranks by whether a template has a clear job, does that job with the skills and routines it actually ships, and tells you where it stops. Eight templates made the cut, one for each kind of work people most often hand to a Grok Bot: promises, inbox, research, news, phone errands, job hunting, markets and building software.

As of 2026-10-31 the directory lists several thousand public templates. Most are one person's personal setup. These eight are the ones we would hand to a stranger.

How we picked

We read each template's skills, routines and listed plugins as stored in the directory, then kept a template only if it passed four checks:

  • A stated job. You can say in one sentence what it is for.
  • Real content. It ships concrete skills, and where it promises something on a schedule, a routine.
  • Honest limits. It says what it will not do without your approval, or it needs no outward permissions at all.
  • Portable. The author's own names, inboxes and keywords are not buried so deep that you cannot clean them out.

We did not import or run any of these templates for this page. Every note below is based on reading the template, and anything that depends on a third-party service is marked as unverified.

Where to go next

Each of these has a deeper, topic-specific shortlist:

Once you have chosen, the guide Import and Customize a Grok Bot Template walks through adding it, pausing its routines and testing it safely.

Nothing on this page is financial, legal or tax advice. The options and finance entries describe how a template behaves, not whether its output is right for you.

The picks

  1. 01

Why it is on the list

The most complete promise-keeper we read: nine skills and six routines built around a ledger of people and promises, with a weekday morning brief, two promise checks a day, a daily review of what you corrected, and a Friday weekly review. It suits anyone whose pain is dropped follow-ups across mail, chat and calls. Its Gmail, Google Calendar, Slack, Otter.ai, Drive and Sheets list is long, so connect only what you need first. Caveats: its ledger tools install through a shell command that needs your approval, and the team-review and dashboard routines should stay off until you actually run a team of bots.

  2. 02

Why it is on the list

A personal secretary with six skills: inbox cleanup and unsubscribe, package tracking from email, bill due dates on the calendar, a daily briefing and reply drafting, backed by three routines. It suits someone with a messy inbox and no desire to build a system. It works with Gmail, Outlook and Google Calendar. Caveats: one routine is named after the author's own assistant inbox address, so repoint it before use, and unsubscribing and mail cleanup change your mailbox, so check each action card before choosing Always allow.

Why it is on the list

A research specialist with five skills: a cited research brief with a claim ledger, a claim verifier that returns PASS, FIX or BLOCK, competitor comparison, a trend monitor and an audit of someone else's research. Pick it when you need an answer you can defend and want unknowns stated rather than papered over. It needs no plugins and ships no routines, so nothing arrives unless you ask; schedule the trend monitor yourself if you want recurring output. It is a thinker, not a doer: it does not contact people or spend money.

Why it is on the list

A deliberately narrow briefing bot: you ask for a brief, and each recent story comes back as two serious readings plus a synthesis and sources. It suits readers who are tired of one-sided summaries and want to see the disagreement. It has two skills, no plugins and no routines, so it is an on-demand tool, not a daily newsletter, and it knows nothing about your interests. Add your own morning routine if you want it on a schedule.

  5. 05

Why it is on the list

Hands your phone to-do list to a bot: placing calls, comparing quotes from several businesses, chasing a support ticket, and a skill that hands you the line when a call needs your identity, a code or a payment. Eight skills and three routines cover alerts for incoming calls and a weekday follow-up list. Risky behaviour: it places real outbound calls and can answer calls on a reserved number. The skills depend on a third-party calling service, ClawCall, whose pricing, number availability and terms we did not verify, and the template lists no plugin for it. Keep every booking, payment and cancellation behind an approval.

  6. 06

Why it is on the list

A compact job-hunt toolkit: a weekday routine that sends new postings matching your background, plus skills for tailored cover letters, interview prep, an application tracker, a scam check on every result and LinkedIn polish. It suits a solo job seeker who wants one bot instead of five. It needs no plugins and none of its skills is an auto-apply skill, so you stay the one who submits. Caveat: the daily list is only as good as the background and preferences you give it in the first conversation.

  7. 07

Why it is on the list

An options research desk built around mega-cap put credit spreads in the 45 to 60 day range plus a bullish day sleeve: premarket report, SPY technical analysis, a position-management skill and eight weekday routines from the premarket brief through the end-of-day check. It suits an experienced options trader who wants a structured morning packet. Risky behaviour: this is financial content with a strong opinion built in, and eight routines will be loud, so pause most of them first. Its stated design is research and alerts, with the trade decision left to you; we did not verify that. Not financial advice.

Why it is on the list

Three tight skills for native iOS and macOS work through Grok Bot on a Mac you own: building with Xcode and Swift, controlling the iOS simulator, and keeping the Mac awake during long builds. It suits a developer who wants to ask for a build from a phone. It needs no plugins and no routines, but it does require a Mac running the Grok Bot desktop app, and it runs commands on that machine, so review every approval card. It is a toolbox, not a project manager, and is aimed at Apple platforms only.
